A Coefficient Of Friction Tester is a device used to measure the coefficient of friction between two surfaces in contact. This measurement is important in many industries, such as manufacturing, where it is necessary to know the frictional properties of materials and coatings.
The tester typically consists of a horizontal plane on which a sample of the material to be tested is placed. A sled or carriage with a known weight is then pulled across the surface at a constant speed, and the force required to move the sled is measured. The coefficient of friction is calculated as the ratio of the force required to move the sled to the weight of the sled.
There are different types of Coefficient Of Friction Tester available, including manual and electronic models. - If it returns slowly without any jerk the degree of damping is acceptable
